Antonia Mercé, La Argentina (1890 – 1936), fue la bailarina española con mayor proyección internacional de inicios del siglo XX, y con el paso de los años cayó en el olvido. Desde su infancia hasta la muerte esta película sigue sus pasos de la mano de una joven bailarina del Ballet Nacional Español; recuperando por el camino metraje inédito de la bailarina de más de un siglo de antigüedad, conservado en la Filmoteca Española, junto a sus álbumes de fotografía personales y recortes internacionales de prensa que guarda la Fundación Juan March. Entre Madrid, Barcelona y París, La Argentina volverá a bailar en este viaje entre dos tiempos: el suyo y el nuestro.
Antonia Mercé, La Argentina (1890–1936), was the most internationally renowned Spanish dancer of the early 20th century, but over the years she fell into oblivion. From her childhood to her death, this film follows in her footsteps through the eyes of a young dancer from the Spanish National Ballet, recovering along the way previously unseen footage of the dancer from over a century ago, preserved in the Spanish Film Archive, along with her personal photo albums and international press clippings kept by the Juan March Foundation. Between Madrid, Barcelona and Paris, La Argentina will dance again on this journey between two times: hers and ours.
